Ofe Onugbu (Bitterleaf Soup) is a popular, traditional Nigerian soup native to the Igbo people of Eastern Nigeria, particularly associated with Anambra State. Despite its name, the soup is not bitter when prepared correctly, as the leaves are thoroughly washed to remove all bitterness.
A popular Igbo dish from Abia, especially in areas like Isuochi, featuring boiled cassava strips mixed with palm oil, potash, onions, garden egg leaves, crayfish, and ugba (oil bean seeds).
Ofe Nsala, or white soup, is a traditional Igbo dish from southeastern Nigeria, especially Anambra State. Made without palm oil, it features fresh fish or meat, yam or yam powder, utazi, uziza, and local spices, giving it a light color and rich flavour.
